I bought this for my son who is almost 2 and loves the cars. I love this pick a book stand because now it is easy for him to select which book he wants me to read or which book he wants to look at on his own.
It was very easy for my husband and I to put together. We were worried due to all of the negative reviews. To our surprise it was so easy! It took us about 5 minutes once everything was out of the box. There are two sets of bars, 2 with screws which go on the bottom and on the top. Then the other set contains 4 bars that you feed through the pick a book materials shelves. I would recommend using a power screw driver to get the screws almost all the way in and then hand finish. My husband and I had no problems. The graphics are awesome and my son loves this bookshelf. It is well worth the $ in our opinion. |

| I purchased this for Christmas 2008 for my son who was 3 at the time. He loved it and it was simple to put together and cute BUT it is very small and can not hold alot of books and can only hold small books. It is now 2010 and it is to small for him so now it is being sold...At the time I purchased it I believe the price was $50 and honestly it is not worth it, you are basically just paying for the cars design. We purchased a bookshelf 3 times the size as this for $60 |

We re-decorated my son's room for his 2nd birthday in a 'Cars' theme. We use to have a large wooden bookshelf in his room, but since most of his books were fairly small, they didn't take up even one shelf. I thought how perfect, a "pocket" book rack! Much easier for a toddler to manage.
First, the delivery date was rescheduled, because it was not shipped when it was suppose to. I was a little disappointed, but got over it fairly quickly.
When it finally arrived, I tore open the box like a kid on Christmas morning, and was severely disappointed in the size and quality of the materials. I do a lot of sewing so I'm fairly familiar with the durability of various materials. I thought the fabric would be a nice heavy canvas, but it's a very thin and cheap material. The assembly instructions are simple, but not all the parts are clearly marked.(There is apparently two different types of round wooden poles. One set to actually support the two side pieces and four that go through the sleeves in the material). We didn't notice any obvious differences in the pole types. Several of the wooden poles were not straight, they had a slight bend or angle to them. The screws that were included were made of a very soft metal, so the screw heads became stripped as we were screwing them into the ends of the poles. Because of this we were unable to tighten any of them. So now the rack is a bit wiggly. After we assembled it, I was suprised how tiny the whole thing was. MUCH smaller than I expected. On a side note, I was pleased with how nicely the sides were painted. In conclusion I cannot recommend this product due to the overall quality or lack there-of. You would be better off getting the nice book rack organizer from Target, and adding a few decals and stickers or paint it yourself. |

| I bought this a few days ago because it looked so cute! I thought what a perfect little book rack for my 3 year old son who adores Cars! We got the package quickly and I opened it all up and made sure all the pieces were there, read the directions and started to put this together while my son is cheering "Thank you mommy!!" I got 2 minutes into this project and I was already screaming my head off. The "screws" if you want to call them screws stripped instantly and the holes were WAYYYYYY to small for them to fit into. It took me a good 15 minutes just to screw the first screw halfway in and then I couldn't get it back out or any further in. It states to NOT use a drill but I had to and even the drill wouldn't screw these fakey screw things in. My husband had to get his Dremel out and make the phillips head screws into flathead screws and drill the holes out bigger in this rack. IT WAS A HUGE PAIN and WASTE of time!!!!!!! The product is made poorly and I recommend it if you want a headache and you want to see the devastation on your child's face when you have to sit it aside half put together because you cannot assemble this product without altering it. The designs are vibrant and beautiful but it's a MAJOR pain in the rear trying to get this together, it is NOT easy by far. I would stay away from this product it is not worth $[...]!! Rip OFF buyer BEWARE!! |
